Electronic Device Assembly

Board, housing, seal, screw. Four steps decide whether a device performs reliably in the field.

Electronic devices join sensitive boards with mechanical housings, seals and connectors. Critical failures can start at the interfaces: a joint stressed by press-fitting, a seal not seated or an incorrectly torqued screw. We build final assembly systems that join boards and housings under monitored force, verify sealing and fastening processes, and run functional tests before packaging. ESD-safe from the first station to the last.

What you get

From raw body to finished assembly.
One team answers for all of it.

01

Process Control

Boards are pressed and fastened under force monitoring, reducing mechanical stress and the risk of damaged joints.

02

Sealing

Gaskets and adhesive beads are checked by vision before the housing closes.

03

Function Test

Every device is powered up and tested before it is packed.

04

ESD Protection

Grounded fixtures and controlled handling protect electronics at every station.

High Speed Assembly & Inspection Cells

Transfer Solution

Board, housing, seal and screw follow each other in a fixed order, and a long line leaves no room for drift between them. The Transfer Solution is our linear assembly system on a rugged welded base frame. Mechanically controlled by hardened cams, station movements and chain indexing stay in exact synchronization from the first station to the last. For assemblies with few individual parts there is the compact Modular Solution, for more stations around one central drive OKUMAT.

Discover all High Speed Assembly Systems

Up to 300 parts a minute, and every one of them exactly where it belongs. Explore the high-speed assembly systems that turn many small components into finished products at a pace most lines never reach.

Custom Solutions & Retrofit

System Solutions

One line for several workpieces, delivered ready to run. Every machine we build is also available as a turnkey system, and hybrid structures that combine assembly modules, NC tables and robots keep availability high and flexibility wide. Plan to expand in stages? That works too. For a process no standard machine offers, there are Custom Machines. For a line you already run, there are System Upgrades.

Our Process

One team from first sketch to a line that runs.

A process that has proven itself. One team plans, engineers and commissions your machine, and hands it over turnkey, ready to run, in the shortest possible time.

01

Planning

Concept, material flow and scope, defined with you before the first drawing is released.

02

Engineering

Mechanics, controls and process, designed as one system and simulated before the build.

03

Realization

Build, installation and commissioning at your plant, then handed over ready to run.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is a linear transfer system better than a rotary one?

When the process chain is long, the part is large or many stations are needed. A linear layout gives each station space and access, and leaves room to add steps later.

Which processes can run on an OKUMAT?

Press-fitting, screwing, crimping, riveting, welding, dispensing, marking, camera inspection and leak or function testing. Assembly and verification run on the same machine, in the same cycle.

Can you build to our internal machine specifications?

Yes. Your specification sheet, preferred component suppliers and plant standards are part of the design from the first concept. Deviations are agreed in writing before the build, not discovered at acceptance.

Which control systems do you use?

We typically build on current Siemens control technology. If your plant has its own standard for controls, drives or safety components, we build to it.

discuss your unique requirements.

How is every unit verified?

Inspection is part of the process, not a step after it. Each unit is checked in the line, and the result is stored against the part. Nothing moves to the next station without a pass.

What traceability do you provide?

Every part and batch is documented through the process: which station, which parameters, which result. Traceability is configured to your requirements, down to part and batch level.

Can our MES receive the production data?

Yes. Process data, results and serial numbers are available through OPC UA as standard. Other protocols and direct MES interfaces are configured to your IT landscape.

Can you test our parts before we place an order?

Yes. For critical joining, machining or inspection steps, we run feasibility trials with your sample parts. You see the result before you commit to the machine.

What do you need from us to prepare an offer?

Part drawings or CAD data, annual volume, target cycle time, number of variants and your quality requirements. Sample parts help. With this, you receive a technical concept and budget price within two to three weeks.

How long does a project take from order to acceptance?

Systems based on our standard platforms typically take six to nine months. Complex lines with machining, assembly and inspection take nine to fourteen months. The binding schedule is part of every offer.
