Consumer Goods

Inline Inspection & Test

A defect found at the end of the line has already cost you the whole line.

In high-volume consumer goods, defects multiply at line speed. End-of-line sampling finds them late, after thousands of faulty units are packed. We integrate camera inspection, force monitoring and function tests directly into the assembly stations. Each step is verified where it happens. Faults are caught at the source, rejected on the spot and fed back before they repeat.

What you get

From raw body to finished assembly.
One team answers for all of it.

01

Inspection

Every process step is checked in its own station, so faults can be detected directly at the source.

02

Throughput

Inspection runs within the machine cycle without adding a separate process step.

03

Process Control

Trends are flagged before limits are reached so process drift can be corrected before it creates additional scrap.

04

Traceability

Images and measurements are stored per unit. Complaints are answered with data.

High Speed Assembly & Inspection Cells

Modular Solution

Inspection works best when it is part of the machine, not a stop after it. The Modular Solution brings assembly and checking into one system: a small rotary indexing table adds room for steps such as welding or camera inspection, while cam-driven handling sets each part exactly in place. Its compact frame drops into a production line you already run. For more stations around one central drive there is OKUMAT, for longer process chains the linear Transfer Solution.

Discover all High Speed Assembly Systems

Up to 300 parts a minute, and every one of them exactly where it belongs. Explore the high-speed assembly systems that turn many small components into finished products at a pace most lines never reach.

Custom Solutions & Retrofit

System Upgrades

A camera station does not need a new line. System Upgrades extend an existing machine with additional stations, processes or capacity: new products, higher volumes, changed process steps. You stay flexible without investing in an entirely new system. If the control is what holds the line back, there are System Retrofits.

Your process is not in a catalog, and your machine should not be either. Explore how we build, extend and modernize production systems around what you make, from the first sketch to the last shift.

Our Process

One team from first sketch to a line that runs.

A process that has proven itself. One team plans, engineers and commissions your machine, and hands it over turnkey, ready to run, in the shortest possible time.

01

Planning

Concept, material flow and scope, defined with you before the first drawing is released.

02

Engineering

Mechanics, controls and process, designed as one system and simulated before the build.

03

Realization

Build, installation and commissioning at your plant, then handed over ready to run.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which processes can run on an OKUMAT?

Press-fitting, screwing, crimping, riveting, welding, dispensing, marking, camera inspection and leak or function testing. Assembly and verification run on the same machine, in the same cycle.

Can the Modular Solution be added to an existing line?

Yes. Its compact frame is designed to fit into running production lines, upstream or downstream of existing machines.

Can you add stations to a machine that is already running?

Yes. We extend existing machines with additional stations, processes or capacity. Preparation runs in parallel to production, and installation is scheduled into your planned shutdowns.

discuss your unique requirements.

How is every unit verified?

Inspection is part of the process, not a step after it. Each unit is checked in the line, and the result is stored against the part. Nothing moves to the next station without a pass.

Can the Modular Solution inspect as well as assemble?

Yes. A small rotary indexing table adds room for further steps such as welding or camera inspection, so the part leaves the machine assembled and checked.

What traceability do you provide?

Every part and batch is documented through the process: which station, which parameters, which result. Traceability is configured to your requirements, down to part and batch level.

Can our MES receive the production data?

Yes. Process data, results and serial numbers are available through OPC UA as standard. Other protocols and direct MES interfaces are configured to your IT landscape.

Which interfaces do you support?

OPC UA as standard, plus PROFINET, MQTT and direct database or MES interfaces. Data structures are agreed with your IT and quality teams during planning.

Which process capability do you design for?

Critical features are designed for a machine capability index (Cmk) of 1.67 or higher. We prove it in a documented capability study with your parts before the machine ships. Process capability (Cpk of 1.33 or higher) is then confirmed in series production on your floor.

How do you prove a machine meets spec before it ships?

In a factory acceptance test (FAT) at our plant, with your parts, at full rate. We document output, capability and reject handling. After installation, a site acceptance test (SAT) confirms the same results on your floor.

discuss your unique requirements.

Can you test our parts before we place an order?

Yes. For critical joining, machining or inspection steps, we run feasibility trials with your sample parts. You see the result before you commit to the machine.

What do you need from us to prepare an offer?

Part drawings or CAD data, annual volume, target cycle time, number of variants and your quality requirements. Sample parts help. With this, you receive a technical concept and budget price within two to three weeks.

How long does a project take from order to acceptance?

Systems based on our standard platforms typically take six to nine months. Complex lines with machining, assembly and inspection take nine to fourteen months. The binding schedule is part of every offer.
