Inspection & Test Cells

Sampling tells you how a process performs. Critical applications may require confidence at unit level.

In ammunition and component production, one escaped defect can have serious consequences. For critical characteristics, sampling alone may not provide sufficient assurance. We build inspection and test cells that check every required unit for dimension, weight, surface and function. Results are tied to the serial number or lot, rejects are locked out physically and in the data, and the record is complete before acceptance. Verified per unit. Fully traceable.

What you get

From raw body to finished assembly.
One team answers for all of it.

01

Inspection

Critical characteristics are verified on every required unit at line rate.

02

Reject Control

Failed parts are separated mechanically and flagged in the data. They cannot re-enter the flow.

03

Gauge Capability

Measurement systems are qualified before production starts so measurement capability supports the process.

04

Traceability

Inspection data is stored per unit and exported in the format your customer requires.

High Speed Assembly & Inspection Cells

Modular Solution

A cell that checks every unit should not need a hall. The Modular Solution is built for assemblies with few individual parts, with a compact frame that drops into an existing production line. A small rotary indexing table adds room for further steps such as welding or camera inspection, so assembly and checking happen in one system, and cam-driven handling places each part exactly where it belongs. For more stations around one central drive there is OKUMAT, for longer process chains the linear Transfer Solution.

Discover all High Speed Assembly Systems

Up to 300 parts a minute, and every one of them exactly where it belongs. Explore the high-speed assembly systems that turn many small components into finished products at a pace most lines never reach.

Custom Solutions & Retrofit

Custom Machines

A cell that checks dimension, weight, surface and function has to be built around the part it checks. We start with the concept, work through the material flow layout and the control concept, and end with a machine cut to your product and your process. It is assembled from proven building blocks such as axis modules, machining units and automation components, so even a one-off machine reaches high availability. If a proven platform can carry your process, see System Solutions.

Our Process

One team from first sketch to a line that runs.

A process that has proven itself. One team plans, engineers and commissions your machine, and hands it over turnkey, ready to run, in the shortest possible time.

01

Planning

Concept, material flow and scope, defined with you before the first drawing is released.

02

Engineering

Mechanics, controls and process, designed as one system and simulated before the build.

03

Realization

Build, installation and commissioning at your plant, then handed over ready to run.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can robotic cells be added to an existing line?

Yes. Cells are self-contained units with their own safety concept. They connect to your existing conveyors and controls and can be installed in stages.

Can the Modular Solution be added to an existing line?

Yes. Its compact frame is designed to fit into running production lines, upstream or downstream of existing machines.

When is the Modular Solution the right choice?

For assemblies with few individual parts that need a compact, fast and reliable machine. It covers the full process in a small footprint.

Still have questions? Get in touch with our support team and we'll
discuss your unique requirements.

How is every unit verified?

Inspection is part of the process, not a step after it. Each unit is checked in the line, and the result is stored against the part. Nothing moves to the next station without a pass.

What traceability do you provide?

Every part and batch is documented through the process: which station, which parameters, which result. Traceability is configured to your requirements, down to part and batch level.

Can our MES receive the production data?

Yes. Process data, results and serial numbers are available through OPC UA as standard. Other protocols and direct MES interfaces are configured to your IT landscape.

Which interfaces do you support?

OPC UA as standard, plus PROFINET, MQTT and direct database or MES interfaces. Data structures are agreed with your IT and quality teams during planning.

Can the Modular Solution inspect as well as assemble?

Yes. A small rotary indexing table adds room for further steps such as welding or camera inspection, so the part leaves the machine assembled and checked.

How do you protect confidential projects?

Confidentiality starts before the first drawing: a non-disclosure agreement, access on a need-to-know basis and separated project areas in our facility. Your parts, data and drawings stay inside the project team.

Which process capability do you design for?

Critical features are designed for a machine capability index (Cmk) of 1.67 or higher. We prove it in a documented capability study with your parts before the machine ships. Process capability (Cpk of 1.33 or higher) is then confirmed in series production on your floor.

discuss your unique requirements.

Can you test our parts before we place an order?

Yes. For critical joining, machining or inspection steps, we run feasibility trials with your sample parts. You see the result before you commit to the machine.

Which documentation do we receive with the machine?

Operating instructions, declaration of conformity, electrical and pneumatic schematics, spare parts lists and maintenance plans. PLC source code is supplied by agreement.

How long does a project take from order to acceptance?

Systems based on our standard platforms typically take six to nine months. Complex lines with machining, assembly and inspection take nine to fourteen months. The binding schedule is part of every offer.
